How did you get here ?

I used to do a regular look at how people got to my blog through unusual web searches. I sort of dropped this regular feature because I forgot about it, but I am reviving this feature this week because of a really odd search that brought someone to my blog.

Using the search term, "When you are the last priority of your man", brings up my blog for some reason.

I am expecting thousands of hits now from women feeling very much the last priority of their men.

Gordon Ramsay Nude - How did you get here ?

In this week's pick of the most unusual way someone has got to my blog by using a search engine, I bring you "Gordon Ramsay Nude", which was the search which got to THIS story on my blog.

The interesting thing was, looking back at the story, that Gordon Ramsay made a TV programme which was supposed to get everyone cooking, but sadly all it involved doing was making chips and grilling a steak (really rather basic stuff) yet in recent weeks he's had the nerve to have a go at Delia Smith for using pre-prepared ingredients in her new book.

How did you get here ? - Lewis Hamilton is an arrogant @*$@*$

Every week I look threw my blog stats to see who has got to my blog via an obscure search engine search.

This weeks search shows someone does not like Lewis Hamilton. I guess this blog search shows that the story the Google search linked to on my blog was not as silly as some people first thought.

As for me, since I wrote it he has grown on me even more. I like him, the point I was making was that there are lots of people who don't, and it is nothing to do with his race as they are the same sort of people who like Barack Obama.

How did you get here ? Squirrel Nutkin Norfolk

I have missed out doing my semi regular "How did you get here ?" feature for some weeks so I thought I'd do a mid week one to catch up (especially since other blogs are now copying this idea ).

For those who are new to this blog, I look though my stats and find an unusual way that someone has got to my blog via a search engine.

This week someone did the search "Squirrel Nutkin Norfolk" and got to THIS story about Nick Clegg and Europe, a story that made me public enemy number one with some Lib Dems, but a piece I stand by and am proud to have written. I hope the squirrel searcher was not too disappointed.

How did you get here ? Referee Lee Probert

Every week I like to have a look at my blog statistics and see what old stories people are reading because a search engine has linked to it, This week's interesting search saw a number of people look up the "Lee Probert Referee".

One of the joys of blogging is that you can make people aware of things that they might not otherwise know about. But when it comes to football, it allows people to scrutinise a group of people who seem completely unaccountable and oblivious to the effect of the decisions, and these people are referees. I think my opinion HERE was pretty clear.

Now everyone is entitled to make a mistake, but there is a difference between making genuine mistakes and what I believe referee Lee Probert does, and that is that he has not got a clue.

This weeks has seen a number of "hits" on Lee Probert which does suggest he must have had another howler of a game somewhere. Oh dear !

Problems with Setanta Sports - How did you get here ?

I am consistently getting up to five hits every day to my blog under the Google search "problems with Setanta Sports". Which despite its launch over six months ago, seems still to be causing all sorts of problems to its customers.

Often when looking through how people have got to this blog via Google or other search engines, I feel they might have got here by mistake and ended up linking to a story that they were not actually interested in. However, as can be seen from the moe than 60 comments left on THIS story about Setanta Sports and their problems, it appears that this blog has, at least, allowed people to let of some steam over the uselessness of Setanta's customer support.

I hate cats - How did you get here ?

In my weekly look at how people get to this blog by using a search engine, I was delighted to see that I am not alone in my disliking of cats because at least one other person has found my blog this week whilst doing a Google search under the heading "I hate cats" , which linked to THIS story.

Most interesting blogger - How did you get here ?

This weeks search through my blog stats shows that one blogger got to my blog this week via Google using the search term "most interesting blogger".

Usually I ask if the person getting here is disappointed with the story that the search links to, but in this case I am the one who is disappointed. I was really excited to see that someone searching for "most interesting blogger" got to my blog, but disappointed that it didn't link to me, but instead to this story HERE.

Fearne Cotton and nepotism - How did you get here ?

Every week I like to have a look through my statistics and see how people are getting to this blog.

This week I have had a few hits on the subject of "Fearne Cotton" and "nepotism". Could it be that having watched the 2008 Brit awards and the continued fawning and dumbed down presenting skills of the aforementioned Miss Cotton that a few other people have come to the same conclusion as me that Fearne Cotton's regular appearances have a lot less to do with talent than her family tree ?

I hope these people were therefore happy to get linked to THIS story.

Starling the Dictator - How did you get here ?

In this week's look at how people used search engines to get to my blog by mistake, I have to point out this AOL search from Monday. Someone typed in the words "Starling Dictator" and got to my blog !


I don't know whether to be upset or delighted. I hope they were not upset to get to THIS story.

How did you get here ? Nigella Lawson - I HATE THAT WOMAN !

In my ongoing series looking at how people have ended up at this blog via odd search engine queries, I give you the search term "Which food processor does Nigella Lawson use ?"

This nicely linked to a story about my pet hate, which is Nigella Lawson, who can only be out done in the irritating stakes by Jamie Oliver whose phrases like "Wrap up that lovely little tiger" when referring to covering venison in tin foil, made me cringe the other day.

I used to be against new runways, but when I heard Jamie Oliver was against the Stansted expansion I suddenly wanted a new runway whilst Nigella simply makes me want to do myself harm !

Every week I like to look at my blog stats and find out how people get to my blog from search engines.

This week I have had about four hits, which is normal, under the search term "Margaret Thatcher is dead".

Latvian Girls - How did you get here ?

In my weekly look at unusual ways people have Googled to get to my blog unwittingly, I bring you the search term "Latvian Girls".

About five people a week get to my blog this way, but I am sure they are terribly disappointed to find that it links to this story, or perhap it tells them just what they wanted to know about Latvian girls.
