I suppose we all ought to be surprised and shocked to find out that the BNPs new non racists non discriminatory rules are actually still racist.
It doesn't matter how many times the BNP deny it, the very point of the BNP is that they are a racist party, that is the reason for their being and the reason for their support. Trying to deny it is like claiming that Manchester United are not a football team.

Journalist thrown out of BNP meeting for "telling lies" - Oh the hypocrisy !
You can't help but marvel at the irony and hypocrisy of the BNP throwing a journalist out of their recent meeting because, they claim, he told lies about them.
I wonder if every person had been judged by the same rules whether the BNP leader Nick Griffin could put his hands up and say he has never told a lie ? I think we all know the answer to that question.

The proof that Nick Griffin's pronouncements on Question Time don't fit the facts
For anyone fooled by Nick Griffin, and I was talking to a pensioner yesterday who seemed to have been fooled by the twaddle Nick Griffin spoke on Question Time, Channel 4 have fact checked every statement of "fact" he made on the show and , er, to put it nicely, it appears he was attmepting to pull the wool over voters eyes.
Check out what Mr Griffin said, and the real facts by clicking HERE

The left wing campaigners who shame us all
One of the biggest ironies in free speech principles allowing the BNP to have a seat on the BBC Question Time panel tonight is the simple fact that extreme right wing parties of the ilk of the BNP are the very parties who would, if they could, deny people those rights. So for those of us who believe in free speech, it is very much through gritted teeth that we support the BBC's principled stance in allowing the BNP to appear on the show.
Sadly though, there are those who have used the BNPs appearance on Question Time as a means of pursuing their own vested interests.
Looking at the the usual suspect waving socialist worker placards whilst attempting to attack and break in to the BBC, you realise that there is only a very subtle difference between the methods of the far left and the far right. The differences are that whilst the far right claim to speak for the "ordinary working person", the far left seek to claim the title of speaking for the rest of us, which of course they don't.
The truth is that the actions of the far left outside the BBC today will only give solice to the BNP and will add to the view of many of those people, ignorant enough to vote BNP, that the whole world is against them and that people don't want to hear the BNPs version of the truth.
The majority of people, those who are liberal both with a small and large "l" who vote for mainstream parties, abhor the views of the BNP and hope that people see them for what they are. But the is a clear division between those who choose to oppose violent thugs in suits by legitimate democratic means and those who seek to wave placards and deny those they do not like from exercising rights that the vast majority of this country hold dear.
The truth is, of course, that the far left oppose the BNP from exercising freedom of speech because just like the far right, the far left are not to be trusted with guarding our freedoms.
Whilst they may not be racists, they want a class war, they also show prejudice and would be as quick to remove the rights we all hold dear as quickly as the BNP, if they had the chance. Meanwhile they shame the rest of us who oppose the BNP and who are now cast by them as being part of the BNP opposition alongside them.

My ancestors would be turning in their graves at the BNP's distortion of the reasons why they fought and died for Britain
The thrust of the BNP's party election broadcast tonight's seems to be on distorting the events surrounding the last two world wars and trying to make it fit their version of history.
Oddly, the BNP claim that Britain was fighting to stop a European super state from 1939-45. They do mention, in passing, the Nazis. But fail to mention how many members of the BNP are or have been involved in Nazi saluting, or other pro Nazi activities. They ask "Are you proud to be British ?" I am, but not when I see history being re-written in this way.
They also ask what those who have fallen in world wars would think if they saw the immigrant walking our streets today, claiming this is what the last two world wars were about. Actually, I imagine my ancestors who died fighting for this country would imagine how lucky we all are to have a free press, the right to travel freely and the rule of law in place instead of thuggery, hatred and protectionism.
When the BNP opened their broadcast claiming that all the other political parties were up to no good (expenses wise) and the BNP were different. I have to agree. After all the Tories, Lib Dems, Labour and UKIP are all led by people who are not convicted criminals. The leadership and executives of these parties are not made up of people with convictions for violence, racism and possessing weapons.
The BNP has a right under our freedoms to sell their message. However, it is a shame that they chose to distort history. I am making use of my democratic rights to say how much I oppose what they have to say, and I don't doubt for one moment that should their kind ever come to power these freedoms would disappear as quickly as they did in Nazi Germany in the 1930s.

Labour "talking up" the BNP again
A few weeks before the last local elections in London a Labour minister, Margaret Hodge, stupidly talked up the chances of BNP success in her Dagenham seat. The BNP seized upon this gift of publicity, ran with it, allowing the Labour Party and the press coverage to give it credibility, and as a result the BNP got a better result in Dagenham than even they could have hoped for.
You might have imagined that Labour might have learnt from this and previous examples where the labour Party have given the BNP much needed credibility boosts. Back in 1993 the Lib Dems took the blame for events in Tower Hamlet whilst Labour ignored the fact that it was their leaflet that claimed the BNP were set to win. People in Tower Hamlets knew that nobody was taking the BNP seriously until that labour leaflet.
So what is happening this year ? Harriet Harman is talking up the BNP again.
Anyone involved in politics knows that you avoid giving any credibility to those who are likely to steal votes from you. It again serves to highlight what an imbecile Harriet Harman is.

Norfolk BNP meeting cancelled by pub
The BNP attempt to use a false name to book a meeting at a pub but has been thwarted after the landlord got news of what was planned and cancelled the booking.
The BNP, so proud of their name, used a false name in order to trick the landlord in to allow the booking. Well done to the landlord. Anyone booking something under false pretences has got to be suspicious.

Is the same BNP who moan about their members being intimidated the same BNP behind sick smears in London ?
Last week the BNP moaned about its members being intimidated after their membership list was published online.
Yet we read now that the same BNP appear to be behind a campaign of sick smears and intimidation in London.
How odd that they can complain on one hand but tell sick lies on the other.

I am a member of the Liberal Democrats
I just thought I'd make it clear that I am a Liberal Democrat member. I am not ashamed or embarrassed by this fact and am happy to state it for anyone who wants to know.
Apparently though BNP members are not so keen to be open about their membership of their party.
Guilty secrets, shame, embarrassment or what ?

Did the BNP withdraw their candidate because they disapproved of what he said or because they were worried about him losing them votes
The BNP have removed their London Assembly candidate Nicholas Eriksen (now there's a good old British name for you !) from their list as a GLA candidate after load of press furore and it even being brought up in Prime Minister's Questions today.
The question is, why did it take the press and PMQ's to get the BNP to act ?
Did they diagree with what he said yesterday ? If so they seemed very quiet about it or has the negative press coverage and the fact that it would destroy their female vote (yes, women can be racist too) make them realise that he had to go.
After all, one BNP candidate described Mr Eriksen's views as "totally and absolutely abhorrent" but the BNP's deputy leader Simon Darby had not seemed that bothered and offered an excuse to Mr Eriksen by suggesting thatthe comments had been taken "completely out of context".

BBC make allegations against the BNP
It would be worth listening to BBC Radio 4 at 8pm tonight to listen to a File on Four report about the BNP and it's somewhat dodgy financial recording.
The BBC aclaims that they have evidence of records and receipts being shredded and burnt by the BNP and that some donations have not been properly declared.
The BNP have already come back at the BBC claiming it is a conspiracy, but anyone interested in politics ought to listen to it and find out for themselves.

Far right to split again ?
I seem to recall that the BNP came about after something of a split in the National Front in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Now, it appears, the BNP is set to split itself after factional fighting.

Julian Lewis MP quits Oxford Union over invite to racists
Well done to Tory MP Julian Lewis for having the courage of his convictions by resigning from the Oxford union over their invite to BNP leader Nick Griffin and Holocaust denier David Irving to speak to the Oxford Union.
It shows that for all their money and so called knowledge, the some Oxford students have badly misjudged the public mood on this issue and with the BNP now haling the Oxford Union's decision as "a big breakthrough for our party to spread its message", it shows how stupid they have been.
There is a difference between freedom of speech and given people a platform to peddle their hatred.

12% of Tories are racists - Official
Interesting story on Conservative Home reporting on the latest You Gov opinion poll. It not only reports that Lib Dem support is on the up, but it shows people's second preferences.
What it clearly shows is that 12% of Tories second choice votes would be for the BNP.
No further comment needed.

Blogpower - Power I could do without
I entered in to this "blogpower" group a few days ago, slightly unaware of the fuss within their group concerning BNP activists getting involved. Looking at some of the names on their list encouraged me that it would be okay, Ellee Seymour, a very reasonable and witty Tory to name but one.
However, I began to feel slightly alarmed when I started getting comments from one of the BNP people in "blogpower" who has then started posting comments to my blog with links to the BNP website.
So I have withdrawn from Blogpower, and whilst I hope their original idea can be a success, I would imagine other people like me would have similar concerns. It is not a case of censorship or being prissy, it is simply a case of me asserting my views and principles as clearly as possible.

Labour must wake up to causes of BNP support
I agree with much of what has been written in the articles. The most important recognition of cailure is when he says :
“Some communities have been badly affected by a decline in traditional industries, a shortage of affordable housing and changing migration patterns. Society is becoming fragmented.
There is also widespread disillusionment and distrust with party politics. Decision-making is becoming removed from local communities and voters are feeling increasingly powerless.”
Actually, one part of this is wrong. He says people distrust political parties. I don't actually believe this. What they distrust are politicians who mislead, lie and promise the world but fail to deliver (David Cameron take note !)
Labour's government of spin has put people off Labour, and this is more pronounced amongst the traditional working classes who feel most let down by Labour. I know many former Labour voters who have not turned to the BNP or become racists, but in part that is because there has been another party of politician to fill the void left.
I also think that Labour have taken their core vote for granted. John Cruddas is right to highlight the housing problems, but also why are there not police on the streets in the poorest areas ? Why are council's forced to sell off their council housing because the government refuses to let council borrow money to bring the houses up to a decent standard ? Why are the government tightening the purse strings for councils forcing community centres and other voluntary organisations which ease community cohesion to close or stop their activities ?
Why won't Labour really take on the BNP ? In the North of England, the Liberal Democrats set up a team of activists to really go for the BNP in local by-elections and provide advice to councillors facing the BNP. This is why the BNP have lost seats in Burnley and this is why they have never made the big breakthrough in Oldham. So what do Labour do ? Margaret Hodge talks up their chances of winning and in doing so gifts them a number of council seats in Barking and Dagenham and gives them publicity the like of which thye could only dream of.
As for Labour MP's saying that the law must be changed in order to convict Nick Griffin, the BNP leader, after his acquittal yesterday, I would strongly disagree. I despise the what the BNP stands for, but instead of changing the law, why not change the policy of the government.
The BNP can only trive in a vacuum, and the government's policies are what is creating that vacuum. Address the problems that cause people to support a racist party like the BNP rather than trying to gerrymander the law in order to gain a conviction for party political purposes.
