The National Institue for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has something of a reputation for preventing (or should that be helping) local Primary Care Trusts from properly giving out some drug treatments because of the costs, even when there is medical proof the drugs will work.
So I can hardly see NICE allowing this on the NHS !

LOL I saw this earlier today. They might allow it if you offer them up as guinea pigs in the study that is inevitable.
Well if it works... I wonder what the tabloids would say about it though! Seriously ethanol is used as a way of treating methanol poisoning so there's a logic...
My brother-in-law discovered the medicinal properties of intravenous vodka. He hadn't poisoned himself, he just likes to get pickled.
I hate to make a serious point in a light hearted post but the "National" bit in NICE only means England, not the UK.
But are we not, in England, a nation ?
