Yes, Labour are to announce that 2,000 troops will be coming home from Basra. Queue excited handclapping and tributes to Gordon Brown's leadership and perhaps a further poll boost.

Of course it was Gordon who sorted out the funds for the war and supported in the first place. I guess Labour will be hoping the electorate don't know this.
