It is a sad state of affairs at the moment that Norfolk's PCT is going around cutting and closing virtually everything it is involved with. The latest cuts to be announced is to speech therapy.
As a school teacher I know the work that speech therapists do is absolutely invaluable. The number of children I have taught who have undergone or who were still undergoing speech therapy is incredible. The fact is that although not being able to speak clearly is not a medicl need, it affects people's lives in an enormous way.
This decision by the PCT must be revieved, if not we are going to bring up a generation of children in Norfolk with severe speech difficulties and all the problems associated with that.
