Is this putting the country's defence first ?

In order to save money all Territorial Army training is to be suspended for 6 months. Remember, this is just after a TV advertising campaign (costing several million pounds) to get people to join the TA.

It further undermines any credibility this awful Labour government has when it comes to defence issues.

Nich, this is laughable. Absolutely typical of this government. Today, we have G Brown banging on in the Telegraph that there will be strong growth in the next year, and yet the country is so broke that we can't even train our part time forces.

PS: I take it lolling around in bed all day is conducive to blogging. 4 posts in one day, an' all...

It's interesting, you keep the men with the guns away from them in the 6 months leading up to a general election. I wonder what Labour are afraid of.

I really don't know how incompetent this government can get, Nich. The dangerous part of this is if large numbers of the TA are needed in the near future and they will not be properly trained, as well as ill equipped. All of this - as you rightly say - on the back of a major advertising campaign. This government is a bad joke adversely affecting the lives of all of us.

Andrew, we can only despair at their stupidity.

Nich, it must be the good Norfolk air. You should bottle it and sell it.
