Iain Dale has highlighted John McCain's latest advert on US TV. Having seen it on Youtube and Sky News today I am not so impressed.
You get the impression throughout the advert that McCain is blinking too often to read the cue card which has obviously been placed just to the left of the camera as he looks at it (our right), and due to his age he seems to squint and not look directly in to the lens.
It might have been the right message, but if I were running McCain's ad campaign I'd drop the close up shots and anything which involves McCain speaking for long periods of time when he cannot learn the lines.
You have to ask how he will cope in a debate if he cannot remember 30 words for an advert.
