I am sure that holding the Euro 2008 football championships was thought of by the tourist boards of Switzerland and Austria as an ideal opportunity to boost tourism in the countries, particularly outside of the skiing season. However, from what I can see from the TV, these countries seem to be blessed with the most inclement weather of any countries in Europe.
Virtually every night I watch the matches taking place in the most appalling heavy rain, thunder storms and grey murkiness. Not that I was looking to go to Switzerland or Austria, but if I was, I wouldn't be that keen now.

But, what about a trip to Switserland in your title? Or am I confusing this with Switzerland? Maybe your sub-editor has gone there?
Austria is a beautiful country. I loved visiting there. It is so much better run & has better people than this country. There & in Germany, people are much more environmentally aware, & fucking twats like Clarkson & Brendan "the cunt" O'Neill don't exist, nor does anyone feel the loss.
Asquith: I don't know, I think I prefer Corporal Jones to Corporal Hitler. And then there is the cellar. I agree that Germany and some other countries like Sweden are more environmentally aware than us in Dark Ages Britain.
