Author Terry Pratchett has announced that he has a rare form of early onset Alzheimers disease.
Reading a summary of his statement on the BBC website shows an enormous amount of bravery and good humour on his part, particularly when he says "We are taking it fairly philosophically down here and possibly with a mild optimism".
I personally wish him and his family good health and hope that he is able to continue his amazing writing for some years to come.

That is such a shame.
"I know it's a very human thing to say 'is there anything I can do', but in this case I would only entertain offers from very high-end experts in brain chemistry."
It would be great if there's someone out there...
