Are the US building a case for an invasion of Iran ?

It is interesting to note today that Iran is now being directly linked to the bombing of a synagogue in Buenos Aires, with the reporters responsible for the story being based in the US, whilst Gordon Brown is being old told by the US government to be "more like the French" and to be tougher with Iran.

It could just be me, but is this the start of a concerted effort by the US to build a case for invading or at least attacking Iran ? With Nicolas Sarkozy in America this week, the Americans are clearly buttering him up, and it appears he may be more gullible that Gordon Brown.

I'm tempted to say "no", just because it seems like they had already started to build a case before now (unfortunately).

See “Blast from the Past” at IranAffairs.com about how the US encouraged and supported Iran’s nuclear program precisely because it makes economic sense for Iran to export its oil rather than use it at home to power its economy.
