Take the National Express
In the words of 'The Divine Comedy' song 'National Express', 'if you're tired and feeling stressed, take a trip on the National Express'. (This picture is from today's Eastern Daily Press and shows holiday makers from the Heathrow bus pushing it when it got stuck in a Suffolk town.)

I wonder whether they got a refund?
Argh! Never again.
The last time I used NE was to get from Llanfairfechan to London, then switch to Eurolines for Berlin. A total of 19 hours in a coach.
That's when I lost my fear of flying.
The NE journey from Gwynedd to Birmingham is just dire, and seems to involve stopping at every village on the way. The journey from Brum to London in contrast has no ports of call.
