Stupid Aid - Nominate the stupidest decision you know of

Barnardos are running a "Stupid Aid" competition on their website.

To enter the competition you need to nominate an example you can find of a stupid decision that has been taken.

If you live in an area with a Tory council you should have few problems coming up with lots of things to nominate.

I bet you could find as many decisions from LibDem councils ... oh, but there are SO many less of those now aren't there?

My vote would go to Norwich and conkers, Norwich and bouncy castles...

The conkers one was definitely when Norwich was labour run, pre Lib Dem days, as I think was the bouncy castle story too.

How about nominating the one where the LibDem council suddenly woke up one day to find a £2m black hole in the finances? Now that was stupid!

I note that you make the point tha they didn't spnd their way to a £2m defecit, they just found they had it when they were told by the officer responsible.

It has to be the Home Office, whilst inside I had to petition for permission to write my autobiography. I was surprised when it was granted. Although the provision raised eyebrows, "Provided that you don't write about your life...".

How about the stupid decision to support Labour via coalition in the Scottish Parliament for several years, thus indicating that if you vote Fib Dem, you get Labour?

Coming to a parliament near you soon.....

Lib Dems supporting the inept Tory council in Brum, thus ensuring that the city hasn't got the desperatly needed improvements to public transport that were well on the way to fruition previously?

After the vote farming incidents in Birmingham from Labour, I think doing a deal with the devil was probably better than the Lib Dems going with Labour.
