Apparently the Department for Innovation, University and Skills have analysed the books and recipes of Delia Smith and Nigella Lawson and are of the opinion that their sentences are too long and are not easy to understand.
By opinion of the Department for Innovation, University and Skills is that they speak bollocks.
Anyone who has a Delia book knows that whilst her instructions are more wordy, she leaves nothing out, is absolutely crystal clear about measures, ingredients, quantities and even the method of cutting and preparation. I have never, ever gone wrong with a Delia recipe and would use her books over any other chef's book.
It strikes me that the DfIUS has too little to do. This is an absolute waste of money.
