Due credit to Steve McLaren

Well done to Steve McLaren, England manager, for his decisions in the last seven days. Picking Heskey, Barry, Robinson and Wright-Phillips have all been proved rught, with the wonderful Gareth Barry and Emile Heskey putting pressure on more illustrious names such as Rooney, Lampard and Carrick to start producing the goods at international level. The fact that Wayne Rooney has not scored a competitive goal for England in over three years speaks volumes, but it was so refreshing to see players playing for the shirt, and not cash tonight. Well done England and well done to the manager.

P.S. And well done to Scotland for their 1-0 win in Paris. I don't need to tell you that it was Everton's James McFadden who scored the winner.
