A year ago when David Cameron went to Afghanistan a friend of mine who votes Labour joked somewhat sarcastically "Wouldn't it be a shame if Cameron was attacked by the Taliban".
Now, the same friend has repeated the same line, but this year it is no joke, he is serious.
It speaks volumes about the difference in Cameron's perception now from 12 months ago.
So let me echo what my friend said. Come back Dave, safe and well.
