print.
it is a shame that these bloggers and journalists hadn't bothered reading the Live Earth organisers plan to use the profits to but millions of energy saving light bulbs which would very quickly repay the amount of carbon used by yesterday's concerts and more.
So well done to the Live Earth organisers, although it might have been kinder if Al Gore could make his speeches on time in future and not leave poor old Thandie Newton to fill for five minutes !

Off Topic, but have you seen THIS?
They may buy energy saving lightbulbs but they actually have to be used to be of any use. If they aren't used then they are just a waste of materials.
Will some of us be getting free energy saving lightbulbs because of live earth?
We don't need a concert organized and put on by the worst "carbon footprint" offenders in order to save the planet. It would have been more significant if those who participated refused to participate because of the waste of energy it involved and did so vocally, splattering their names and reasons for staying home all over the news. If you're going to ask someone else to conserve, then you damn well better be conserving yourself first. I was raised to turn off lights when they're no needed, to hang laundry rather than dry it in a dryer in the warmer months, to recycle just about everything imaginable, and to walk or ride a bike whenever possible. Simple common sense, personal responsibility stuff. I am teaching my four kids the same, and they will teach theirs. Al Gore's Carbon footprint is, I'm sure, many many times mine. And personal responsibility is something that most democrats, including Al Gore, laugh at. So Al Gore talks the talk and my family and I walk the walk. Who's doing more to save the earth? And who's just trying to stay famous to get invited to all the Hollywood parties?
Why was this NOT a benefit concert?
Al Gore has recently added a bunch of solar panels to his house and purchases carbon offsets to reduce his footprint.
When will they have the concert to pay for disposing of all the mercury in the "energy efficient" lightbulbs (I assume CFL) they're buying to offset the carbon of this concert?
The idea to do something to wake up the people is principally good in my opinion. But there should have been more common actions, like for example the self obligation of the spectators using public transportation to get to the concert, the organizers buying the needed electricity out of renewable resources etc.. But as long, as the madness of cars with 6, 8 and more cylinders are not forbidden, computers, which are only measured in mega- and gigaflops, instead also in total costs of ownership and thus specially spent energy, people driving to the gym or out "to enjoy nature" by car etc are still absolutely normal, instead bein branded by the society as irresponsible - what do you expect? Sorry, me not much...
I am glad that the superstars that want us to use one square of TP ask us to get rid of our cars. so they can ease the guilt of that private jet and the limo's used to go everywhere. ever herd of a bus?

googled around for some official informations on the "carbon footprint" of live earth as verified by PriceWaterhouseCoopers but there is nothing on (for now?)
what I did not know: Greenpeace backed off because Daimler Chrysler is an official sponsor.....so is "chevrolet"..CAR MANUFACTURERS???
