The Iranians have for months been arming and equipping Shia militants in Iraq. they have trained the militants to build bombs, given them military training and even providing them with Iraqi government uniforms so they an pose as Iraqi forces.
Now, after all the mayhem they have helped cause in Iraq, the Iranian number two at the Iranian embassy has been kidnapped, it appears by Sunni militants posing as Iraqi army units.
Of course, the Iranians are upset and want to blame anyone except themselves. I guess it goes to show what goes around, comes around.

Iran has tried to create instability in Iraq in order to weaken the US, but it might also spill over their borders at some point. Iran is far from "safe" from the mess it has helped create in Iraq.
