Boots to sell Viagra over the Counter - For a tidy profit of course

The BBC reports that Boots is to sell Viagra over the counter to men, with just a quick consultation with a pharmacist required first. Read about it HERE.

I don't see any problems with Boots doing this, but I do think they are taking advantage by charging £50 for four tablets !

If your e-mail inbox is anything like mine, you'll know that occasionally messages get through the spam filter offering surgery to enhance by your body or varying ranges of tablets and medicines, including viagra. It seems to me that the going rate for Viagra is about $5 a tablet, or to you and I , about £2.50, so with Boots selling Viagra for five times this price, we should see their motives as less altruistic than they might claim.

Actually, for legitimate Viagra actually made by Pfizer, that's not all that outrageous.

Most of the stuff you see advertised at stupidly-cheap prices is actually Kamagra (generic equivalent, made in India, a breach of Pfizer's patent to sell in the UK), or doesn't actually contain any sildenafil citrate at all, and is just a pure con.

even the BBC highlighted that the price was high, whilst other channels have pointed out that sildenafil citrate is a generic drug and the NHS does prescribe the generic version so there is no reason why Boots could not sell the gneric copy.

So far, touch wood, I've never need them. I might soon given how much I drink...

Very funny "touch wood", I almost missed that.

Richard Gadsden has obviously never tried them. He's just repeating some dated old scare stories going round the net.
Kamagra is the same as Viagra and does indeed contain sildenafil citrate. Try it - it works !

I'm working at ITV on a documentary about Viagra. As Norwich is supposed to be the 'Viagra Capital of the UK' I was wondering if you knew of anyone that may take it for any purpose and would want to have a further chat with me.
If so, please call me on 0207 578 2396 or email laura.harding@itv.com

I have to say I have no idea. It is not something I talk about with friends.
