First red wine, now a curry !


Fabulous news for all Curry eaters (and eaters of anything that has a lot of spicy chillies in it).

Scientists have discovered that chillies can destroy cancer cells. Read more about it HERE.

First it was one glass of red win, then later two, that was supposed to be good for you. Now it is chillies. All we need is for scientists to discover that doughnuts and lager is good for you and I'll give up going to the gym !

While that may be true, I suffer from Barrett's Syndrome. I am probably one of the most tolerant Chilli eaters. But I have had to cut back (and my mouth heat tolerance has gone down a bit as a result). Chilli aggravates reflux, which can aggravate the Barrett's, which can lead to cancer. So though the Chilli may help one way, it aggravates my particular problem :-(

Duncan, I guess red wine aggravates the reflux too. Sounds like you've had it mate !

It's not just cancer that it helps. Spices like chilli are thought to raise metabolism by up to 50 percent for up to three hours after eating, due to increasing your heart rate and so help you burn calories!!!

That is not an excuse for a curry though!!
