The new community health profiles, available online this week, make very interesting reading and come up with some interesting anomolies.
For example, according to the profile for North Norfolk http://194.116.175.130/profiles/33UF-HP.pdf , the life expectancy for Fakenham North, the ward I am councillor for, is considerably higher than average. However, the life expectancy for Fakenham South is considerably lower than the average.
This seems odd given that both ward share a single doctors surgery, a single school for each Key Stage and share facilities for almost every other area of health and well being. Given that the ward boundaries were arbitrarily drawn on the map, it seems even stranger.
Perhaps I should make the case that it is one of my greatest acheivements to raise life expectancy in my ward "Vote Starling - Live longer". Perhaps not !
Anyway, I need to really analyse this document and make some comparisons to other parts of the County to see if I can learn more. I may return to this theme later.
