Talk Sport - Always treating Norwich people like idiots

Am I the only person sick to death of Talk Sport taking the proverbial p*ss out of Norwich all the time.

For those who don't know it, Talk Sport is a rather low brow radio station that seems to model itself on the Daily Star, but with more adverts. Every news broadcast is brought to you in association with the Vauxhall Insult "The Van that Vans better than Vans Can", or sometihng equally stupid always said after, whilst every other mention seems to be some sort of product placement. However, they do have good sports coverage, particularly of football.

In the last week I've heard repeated comments on their tea-time show making silly in-bred comments about Norwich. Other comments from their presenters (including Rodney Marsh - wan't he famous for being sacked by SKY Sports for making a Tsunami joke ?) make reference to our accents.

Forget that Norwich is one of the financial services industries main bases in this country, and lets not mention the "thick inbreds" who hail from this county, Stephen Fry to name but one. When the facts are examined, Talk Sport's comments are far from fair.

Well apologies all round from the people of Norfolk for not sounding like Rodney Marsh !

Great blog entry, I completely agree. I do not understand the false preconceptions that people have about Norfolk- that we're all backward inbreds. As you said, Norfolk has produced some highly intelligent and successful people and companies (including Caley's chocolate- a definite plus to being from this neck of the woods!). I'm surprised that people don't actually see this as racism. Again, great pos. :D
