Where is the political balance in the Eastern Daily Press ?

The Eastern Daily Press likes to claim that it shows balance, but lets examine the facts.

They have a once weekly column from a Tory "A List" candidate, they have a regular column from the former Labour MEP for Norfolk, they give a Green councillor a regular column, the have a former Tory MP who has a regular column and how many Lib Dems ? You know the answer already don't you !

Come on EDP, give a Lib Dem a regular column to balance things up and show you are truly fair.

And to think... I still have your number (presumably a very old one now) in my contacts book from when I was an EDP reporter in Dereham. Seem to remember my first decent story when I emerged from the training course came from the then largely-unknown Norman Lamb.

Yes Andy (Darley ?) I believe. Your things caught fire, as I recall, on your way to Great Yarmouth in the back of a van ?

I remember you giving me some good advice to pass on to Norman about his press releases at the time.

Nice to see you are still alive and well. What are you doing now ?

Lowestoft, not Yarmouth, but apart from that your memory is embarrassingly good :o) Nice to know my PR advice wasn't a disaster, even if my lifestyle was!

I'm down in London now, self employed as a web hack - visit Horning every so often as Beloved Other Half owns a boat there. You can find me listed in the sidebar of Lib Dem blogs, I was one of the trio that interviewed Ming a while back.

Make sure that your other half is registered to vote in Horning. It is a council ward we won 18 months ago in a by-election, but only just !

I'll check out your blog.

Nich, in the interests of accuracy my column is once a fortnight, not once a week.

I think the EDP's coverage of Norman Lamb more than balances things up, don't you?

Norman Lamb is a Norfolk based local MP. He deserves coverage on that basis.
