I've been out for most of the day and ahve just watched News 24 and been stunned, given all that is going on in UK politics, to see Blair in the Middle East !
It just reminded me of Nixon and has last days in office. Whilst I am not suggesting that Blair has done anything on the scale of Watergate, I seem to remember Nixon becoming obsessed with foreign affairs, notably China, in his last months in office, whilst at home all was falling apart for him politically. Now Blair similarly is hiding away from the press.
To be honest, I guess the urge to be out of the way from the press must be enormous, but I cannot see his absense doing anything but annoy his own MP's, Labour supporters and the press.
