Anyone who reads this cannot help but think this is a shocking appointment from David Cameron and a bizarre reward for someone who ought to be kept as far from government as humanly possible.

The Tories are keeping very quiet about this one. They also seem to have appointed a well known homophobe in to their shadow cabinet too !
