Now this explains a lot

According to research, the key to a happy marriage is for a man to marry a woman who is five years younger than him and who is smarter than him.

Given that my wife is five year, three months younger than me and better qualified than me, it seems that the research might be correct.

She doesn't read my blog so at least she won't know that I think she is smarter than me. I'll carry on giving the impression that I am the brains of the partnership !

This research has hit the nail on the head as far as my marriage is concerned.
My wife is five years younger than me, a lot more intelligent than me, she holds down a complex cardiac scientific job that now includes management, whilst I am as thick as two short planks and grateful for a brainy wife. And she is lovely, kind and loving, but a terrible cook, unlike thickhead me who can rustle up a gourmet meal out of very basic ingredients!
