Do the Tories only say what they really think when they think nobody can hear them ?

The chairman of Gosport Tories caused something of a furore by giving his view that a woman candidate might be a decent candidate if she were attractive. Now, he has apologised and said he thought the interview was over.

This leads me to wonder if the Tories only say what they really think behind closed doors.

Gosport is a spiffing name but Gosport Tories has that nautical air to it.

I suspect the mouth-in-question, Alan Scard, has form.

One example is his previous existence as Olgrumpyfy, with his fragrant wife Adelaide, sock-puppets trying to subvert the Stokes Bay Festival. Scard runs his own "Friends of Stokes Bay" and has a thing against the local festival (and LibDem councillors: Peter Chegwyn could tell us more). I gather Olgrumpyfy may be "affiliated" to other local and web voces populi such as Privett and paddington.

Scard's net-presence may be the consequence of £18,000-worth of IT-equipment provided by the duck-house man, "Sir" Peter Viggars.

This gent looks a bit like Jimmy of "Secret Army" (Geoffrey Palmer played the role). http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Politics/Conservative-Association-Chairman-Alan-Scard-Sorry-For-Making-Sexist-Remark/Article/200908415366941?lpos=Politics_Second_Home_Page_Article_Teaser_Region_1&lid=ARTICLE_15366941_Conservative_Association_Chairman_Alan_Scard_Sorry_For_Making_Sexist_Remark
