How pathetic. Since when did applying for different seats automatically makes someone disloyal to the seat that they get selected for? If that were true, the vast majority of current and prospective MPs are disloyal and should therefore resign immediately for not caring enough about their local area.
Honestly, hasn't he got anything better to do with his time?
I do think there's a difference between Craig Murry standing for parliament in a previous election, in a different constituency and someone casting around different constituency parties trying to get selected. One is standing in multiple elections campaigning on specific issues, the other is trying desperately to get elected so they can live off others as members of the political and parasitic class.
Letters From A Tory should of course remember certain attacks against the LibDem candidate from Tory quarters for 'whoring herself around' before casting stones.
Others have been trying to score points about 'being local' already, why single out Craig? (its a crap argument, but hey, its used by most politicians- politics itself is an extension of school yard argument anyway - just with guns to back it up).
This is a shame as I do have some respect for Murray but not only is the attack a bit limp (and as was pointed out above could be leveled at Murray himself who preferred to stand elsewhere at the last general) but it says something else too...
Why focus an attack on the Tory unless Murray thinks the contest is between him and her? I suspect the result may not bear him out on that.
"Put an honest man into Parliament" versus "an ambitious little mawther".
I'd rather have a decent-sized pool of ambitious would-be MPs than have to put up with windbags like George Galloway. A very petty attack indeed (though probably topped by Iain Dale).
I preferred Craig's second leaflet which was mostly positive campaigning and the Ipswich/Norwich thing was not Craig's strongest argument, but it was hardly a dirty trick or a personal attack either. It was just emphasising that he was born in Norwich, so was one of his parents and his mother still lives here - so he has far more connections to the constituency than Chloe.
The rest of that side of the leaflet noted that Chloe had worked for Deloitte Touche - accountants for RBS. That was about her professional life, not her personal life - certainly negative campaigning but not a personal attack.
The other side of the leaflet was entirely positive campaigning for himself.
Can any of the parties or candidates say they made no criticism of other candidates or parties? No, they can't. So what's so exceptional about Craig's leaflet?
Oh dear. you've come to this blog late and totally missed that I did this for every leaflet from every political party.
As for your defence of Mr Murray you miss the point that making excuses for attacks on leaflets is what those claiming they want to clean up politics would have us believe is wrong with politics today, and now you are doing for him !

What a wretched attack. I note his leaflet somehow fails to mention that he stood for Parliament in Blackburn in 2005. But hey,he's an honest man!
We agree for once Benji.
This is a schoolground sort of argument, even with the yellow and green compared to the blue for Ipswich. But hey, remember, he's an honest man.

I don't like the politics of the gutter. And I think April has run a decent campaign from what I can see.
Do you think Nick Clegg's change of policy on tuition fees will hurt your party today?
That's a load of rubbish Tristan. Nowhere in that leaflet is there any discussion of the issues. It is all about a rather distasteful, personal attack.

why would any one vote for a person like Murray who describes himself as a scottish dissident on his blog?
