Why are the Daily Mail trying to rip off schools ?

The Daily Mail owns the rights to the British Pathe News archive, which is an archive of old British Pathe News films which was actually created using public money.

Since the archive was created by puclic money (government funding), schools across the UK were allowed to use the British Pathe site for a nomical fee (about £40,000). However, now the license is up for renewal, The Daily Mail are trying to charge a fee of in excess of half a million pounds for the license to use the site, which i repeat again, was set up using public money.

The next time the Daily Scum print a headline accusing people of ripping off schools they should be asked why they are trying to rip of British schools themselves !
