The Premier League this week mad the first steps wowards turning the Premiership in to a Franchise system. It's plans for a 39th game each year to be played overseas is the thin end of the wedge. What will be next now this door has been opened and with som many english teams owned by investors rather than fans ?
What will happen when forwign owners want to have a second ground, overseas, what happens when a team wants to uproot completely and move to another coty or country ? Adn thses arguments igore the simple fact that the 39th game each year will favour the top five teams becauyse the Premiership ants to make these teams "seeded", meaning they cannot play each other which will mean they get an easier game. This "lottery" element turns the Premier League in to more of a cup competition where the luck of the draw effects your chances of winning the big prize. That is hardly in keeping with the traditions of the english game.
If you agree with me that this is a ludicrous state of affairs, then why not sign up to the Football Supporters Assocation's plan to oppose GAM£ 39. As you can see from the E being replaced with a £, everyone knows what this plan is all about and it has nothing to do with football or fans.
