Lib Dem Voice highlights today that someone has set up a fake Norman Lamb page on Facebook.
Now this account has been removed from Facebook after the Lib Dems advised Facebook that the page was fake. However, details of who set up the account remain hazy. however, there are some clues.
Firstly, as Lib Dem Voice points out, there is also a fake e-mail address that is being used. Actually this isn't fake, it is a real address that has been set up on yahoo in an attempt to impersonate Norman Lamb. So someone out there is already trying to mislead voters.
The other clue is that the fake Facebook entry had a link to the Conservative Candidate for North Norfolk's blog. This seems very odd. Why would someone who set the Facebook page up want to give publicity to their principle opponent ? Unless, of course, the person who set up the blog wants to give support to that person ???
I am not suggesting for one moment that the Tory PPC in North Norfolk could possibly be involved, but the person who set up this face Facebook entry certainly did it with the intention of raising the Conservative's very low profile in the Constituency. So it would appear that this might be the work of a Tory supporter, would it not ?
