With all the talent available, why Fearne Cotton ?

I can hardly believe that I am the only person in the UK who felt it inappropriate that Fearne Cotton got to interview Princes William and Harry about the death of their mother Princess Diana ten years ago.
For all those wh do not know, Ms Cotton is in my view a brainless kids TV presenter with all the gravitas of a Cheeky Girl. I was led to believe (perhaps incorretly as it turns out) that she is the granddaughter of the Bill Cotton. this may or may not be true, but she has got to be related to someone of importance in the TV world to get so much work, surely ?

With such an exclusive and with so much talent available, can the BBC actually say that Ms Cotton was really the best choice ?

Whatever next, "Dick and Dom" to interview Gordon Brown in "da bungalow" or Tinky Winky to ask President Ahmedinijad about the thorny issue of the Iranian's Nuclear programme ?

Sorry I have to disagree with you, the interview was great and the reason it was so good was because Fearne Cotton is down to earth and of a similar age to the Princes. Who would you have preferred? I think the fact that it was Fearne made the Princes feel a lot more relaxed, they hate the press so I think she was the ideal person to do it...

She was the only one they would speak to.

absolute Rubbish. It is widely reported that the Palace granted the BBC an interview, not Fearne Cotton.

Whether the BBC got granted an interview or not, maybe Fearne was the only one the Princes would talk to, I'm guessing they can make their own choices????

It was widely reported that the Princes had agreed to do the interview with the BBC before Dearne Cotton had even been given the job of interviewing them. To suggest it was their choice is wrong.

she was chosen by request of the Princes at the same time as they gave a interview in america, she was requested specificaly!
