Two days pass and still no Tories are willing to defend David Cameron's air travel tax

Two days ago I blogged on the subject of David Cameron's half baked policy on air tax.

A challenge was put out on the comments page for a Tory to come forward and defend their party leader on this issue.

To date, not one Conservative has.

I think this speaks volumes about the Tories commitment to the environment.

Does this count?

It also says something about how willing some Tories are to read blogs they might not necessarily agree with ...

The silence is almost deafening.

If the LibDems came out with something as stupid as this proposal I wouldn't be able to support it...

The suggestions say far more about Cameron's liberal credentials than anything else - these proposals are illiberal in the extreme (and ineffective and targeting the wrong thing).
