News that Gordon Brown will focus efforts on the terrorism threat if elected as leader of the Labour Party might be hard to criticise. Read about it HERE.What this does show is that he has been stung in to action by opinion polls that suggest that the only area he scores higher on in opinion polls than David Cameron is to the question "Who would make the best Prime Minister in a crisis ?"
For some time it has been suggested by political commentators that Gordon Brown might need to raise the spectre of terrorism in order to strengthen his standing. He now appears to be doing this. We will see, no doubt, in future opinion polls if this is working for him.

I bloody hope so. I can't think of any other reason.
The problem as I see it is that yes, terrorism and the threat we face from it is vey real, but I wonder to what extent it is talked "up" more just to give people gravitas and importance and public support. Its a fine line to tread.
I'd find it odd if he didn't say anything concerning terrorism.
I'd find it odd if any other supposed candidate ignored terrorism
I'd find it odd if any other politician of any other party ignored terrorism.
The funny thing about politics and people associated with it is that sometime they have to talk about politics.
Gordon wants to be leader, so play on.
