A first blog

I've always resisted the urge in the past to tell people what I think and to genuinely beleive that what I have to say is important enough for people to read. However, a few things recently have made me think that some things do need saying.

Firstly, the number of times I have heard from people locally where I live, or in Fakenham where I am still a councillor, or simply from friends, of stories, issues and concerns that have simply not made the local TV news or the local papers, and I ask myself, what are the press doing in Norfolk ?

I have had dealings with the press on a number of occasions through my poilitical involvement (I am a Lib Dem but I don't intend to let my political colours get in the way of being fair or objective), and there are some fine reporters working out there (Richard Batson for the EDP has always impressed me), but when so much is going on in Noroflk that is worthy of comment, why oh why must the BBC local news do another "A-Z of the Eastern Counties" or report, as they did last week on a Post Office being without an internet connection !

So, using my own links to people of various other parties and with a bit of networking (I have friends who are Tory, Labour and Green Councillors in Norfolk) I will try to offer some balance and thoughts on what is happening in Norfolk.

I should just add, it won't all be politics, I am a season ticket holder at Norwich and an Everton fan to boot, so expect some football news as well.

So, here's to the truth, the real truth and nothing but the truth .... Norfolk Blogger !
